HanHan is a Filipino-Canadian artist who raps in her native Tagalog and Cebuano (Filipino) languages on topics ranging from immigration and being a woman of colour to social activism and Pinoy pride. She has performed in various festivals and venues in Toronto including Wavelength Music Festival (2017), Long Winter (2016 & 2017), Canadian Music Week (2017), Our Home On Native Land (2017) and Kultura Filipino Arts Festival (2014 – 2017).
She has also performed in theatre productions namely, “High Blood” for Summerworks Performance festival (Toronto, 2016) and “Ang Pagdidiwata ni Maria Clara” for Fringe Manila (Philippines, 2017). In addition, she has performed in Kazoo Fest (Guelph, 2017), Gongster’s Paradise (California, 2017) and Berlin Music Video Awards (Berlin, 2017) – where her song, “World Gong Crazy” featuring DATU, was nominated for “Best Song” category. Recently, she returned to Summerworks Performance festival to participate in it’s program called “Open Studios” performing in collaboration with choreographer, FLY LADY DI and HATAW, a multidisciplinary performance arts group she is also a part of.
