Kendra Ray

Since 2005, Kendra Ray has been submerged in all things bellydance. From the classic style popular in mid-century Egyptian cinema to a modern fusion with ballet, jazz, flamenco, folk dance, and hip-hop, Kendra’s is a uniquely contemporary form of bellydance. Her experience in film, media, and stage production allows her to create and perform out-of-the-box choreography, an experience both appealing and adaptable to a wide and varied audience.

Always connected to the source of this tradition, as a soloist Kendra aims to preserve the classic role of the bellydancer – to tell a musical story through passionate expression, technique, and musicality. In addition to her solo work and artistic collaborations, she currently performs with the dynamic bellydance troupe, Unveiled Dance Company, as well as with tribal-fusion performer, Leilani. In keeping with her goal to share this unique dance form, she also teaches workshops throughout the United States and Canada.
