Passion, Innovation and Ticket Contest!

It’s always a thrill to have the great Oliver Mtukudzi perform. The love that his fans share for him and his music comes through loud and clear! And the party goes on and on… so needless to say, we’re looking forward to Friday night at the Opera House when the great voice of Zimbabwe returns. Join us on the dance floor!

The following evening at the Small World Centre, Spaniards La Banda Morisca perform. This is a rare opportunity to experience music direct from Andalucía – including former members of the legendary Radio Tarifa, the group continues an unstoppable passion for musical experimentation. Flamenco meets Andalusí-Arabic melodies created when Muslims, Jews and Christians coexisted in southern Spain. Mediterranean passion for a Saturday night!

Next week the Centre takes us to Korea, with the Toronto debut of Coreyah. This exciting young band charts an adventurous course where traditional Korean song comes face to face with Tom Waits! It promises to be a remarkable musical experience. You can be part of it. Reply to adam@smallworldmusic.com and correctly name one Korean instrument the band uses and you will be entered into a draw to win tickets!
