in/future – A Festival of Art & Music at Ontario Place
Punjabi bhangra meets Afrobeat & reggae
Celebrating its 15th Anniversary, the Small World Music Festival is proud to partner with Art Spin to present in/future - a unique 11-day festival of arts and music from September 15 – 25 at Ontario Place. The Small World Stage, presented by Exodus Travels will host a lineup of the best contemporary sounds from around the world and around the corner. Full-day programs on the weekends and evening shows throughout the week will showcase artists that combine ancient and cutting-edge, while getting people up and dancing!
9:45PM The Dhol Foundation
A mighty Bhangra-infused rhythm explosion of drum and bass, tabla and hip hop with a Celtic twist, releasing a powerful drumming and dancing spectacular: thumping beats fused with super cool style with guest singer powering out a sound that’s as eclectic as it is forceful
8:15PM Souljazz Orchestra
Ottawa's afro-funk big band has laid waste to dance floors across the country and is now building their name in Europe.
6:45PM Saeid Shanbehzadeh
Traditional music and trance dance of the Persian Gulf meets modern beats to create a hypnotic, visceral presentation.
5:15PM Human Rights
One of Canada's top reggae bands, specializing in original high-energy, modern roots reggae with a mix of jazz, funk and R&B influences, 'The Rights' feature a blazing 3-piece horn section, two stellar guitar players, and a rock steady riddim section, on the one drop!
4:00PM Amai Kuda y Josephine
Singer-songwriters and percussionists who perform their own brand of AfroSoul, they are also community activists and educators.
2:45PM Eucalyptus
Experimental jazz merges with Ethiopian and Carribbean vibes
