Nazar-i Turkwaz ('My Turquoise Gaze') joins together four remarkable musicians — Brenna MacCrimmon, Maryem Tollar, Sophia Grigoriadis and Jayne Brown — who, for over 30 years, have been collecting and performing traditional repertoire from the Middle East and Turkey, Greece and the Balkans. Active contributors to such musical projects as Maza Meze, Mraya, Doula, and Altin Yildiz Orkestra, these musicians also count multiple Juno nominations among their achievements.

United by long standing friendships and a love of singing, these four talents join forces to celebrate the stories of life through song.Their curiosity and insatiable thirst for musical experience has led to explorations that have contributed some of Toronto's finest world music groups as well as lending their voices to films and theatrical productions. As the recently formed Nazar-i Turkwaz, the quartet share and explore this repertoire, creating their own adaptations and cultivating a sweet sonic union that is unstoppable.
