This Salon presentation is a rare opportunity to spend an intimate evening with a musical legend.

Zakir Hussain has had one of the most illustrious and multi-faceted careers of any musical artist alive. He has taken his instrument, the tabla, and with it, Indian music and rhythm, to a broad and devoted worldwide following. From the purest distillation of classical repertoire to the outer reaches of fusion in numerous collaborations, his unique talent and energy have pushed boundaries and made him a seminal figure in the development of world music.

It goes without saying that he has a few stories to share and this special evening will give a select audience a chance to do just that, as Zakir engages in a Q&A with the evening’s host and audience. And, he may just bring his tablas! As a special bonus, admission to the Salon includes a transferable seat for the following evening’s concert at Markham Theatre.
