A unique double bill! Top musicians from Latin America and Eastern Europe meet onstage in Toronto.

Led by master of Latin percussion and guitar Rodrigo Chavez, Cassava is a veteran 6-piece Latin Band based in Toronto who perform musical styles and rhythms from many areas of Latin America. The music reflects the colour and flavour of traditional and contemporary Latin styles such as Salsa, Bolero and Cha-cha-cha from Cuba, Bossa Nova and Samba from Brazil, Cumbia from Colombia, and contemporary Latin-Jazz. They also perform their own original vibrant compositions.

For the first half of the show, meet two masters of the accordion: Petar Ralchev, known internationally as one of the greatest ambassadors for Bulgarian traditional music (on a rare visit to Canada) is joined by his protégé, Sergiu Popa (one of Canada's top accordionists, originally from Moldova). Their virtuosity and creative improvisations seem to have no limit - they will perform unique interpretations of not only traditional Balkan music and Petar's own compositions but international favourites on the accordion.
