About the artist:
NaMaNa is a duo of experienced musicians combining academic and modern styles, created in 2014 as the musicians entered the first of five years living in Goa, India. A unique mix of cello, bass, and vocals, this unusual combination of instruments creates an original sound that is further enhanced by the cosmic and rare musical saw. Given the members’ wide experience playing in various groups from all over the world, the duo's repertoire includes many compositions in various genres and styles and in different languages.
Cellist, vocalist, saw player, and teacher Anna Shabalina is a graduate of Gnesin Russian Academy of Music. She’s performed around the world in various groups and as a soloist, and won several regional, national, and international music competitions. Linar Rizatdinov, bassist, vocalist, and sound engineer, has a range of experience in pop, jazz and ethnic music. He has performed around the world in various ensembles, sharing the stage with performers including Zulya Kamalova, Peruqua, Huun-Huur-Tu, and more.
