The Path
At a time of great global connectivity, East and West intertwine through the common languages of music, love, and happiness. The Path shares an experience of creating based on Persian music, combined with rock music, inspired by Indian rhythms and the flavours of jazz.
Tehran-born and recent Toronto arrival, Hossein Soleimani (vocal, kamancheh, setar) is well-known as a composer, kamancheh player and singer in Iran and, increasingly, in his new home as well. Violet Re (vocal), Abbas Janmohamed (Tabla) and Daniel Botos (double bass) embark on The Path, the inward spiritual route we pass inside, in the multicultural city of Toronto. They aim to share points of connection, inspired by the inner silence and tranquility of an Eastern Sufi, which also carries the suppressed cries of Eastern women; Something that seems contradictory but is made possible by the magic of music.
