An emerging group of talented women give Indian classical dance a contemporary spin to incorporate narrative story-telling, dance and theatrics. ‘Parikranti’ focuses on women and the issues commonly faced by them, but rarely exposed in word and performance. The work features kathak dancer Vaishnavi Vaikunta and Debaroti Chakraborti performing bharatnatyam with an original score arranged by Jayan Nair.
