The Toronto Outdoor Art Festival (TOAF) takes over Nathan Phillips Square from July 15-17, 2022 to celebrate their 61st year. We are thrilled to be partnering with them and curating a dynamic selection of musicians to get you grooving all weekend long.
Maria and the Band

Founded through an organic collaboration between Brazilian and Canadian musicians, and led by the dynamic Jerusa Leão, Maria and the Band play forró 'pé de serra', a style of music from northeastern Brazil and textured with influences ranging from blues to arabesque. Incorporating rabeca (Brazilian fiddle), zabumba (two-toned drum), accordion, triangle, and a chorus of vocals, Maria and The Band play original compositions and the great songs of forró so beloved in Brazil.
Ammoye

Singing songs of love, life and justice, 5-time JUNO nominee, Ammoye delivers a wholly unique future forward reggae sound that incorporates old-school rocksteady, dancehall and dubstep with gospel, soul and R&B. With her unique, soothing and multidimensional voice and messages of empowerment, Jamaican-born Ammoye is a lightworker and self-declared soul rebel.
