Join some of Zakir's preeminent students in an intimate recital as we celebrate his birthday.

Ustad Zakir Hussain was recognized for many things - being one of history's greatest Indian music performers, opening the ears of Western audiences, collaborating with innumerable artists across cultural lines - and more. But behind the scenes, he was also dedicated to building the future of Indian music and developing the next generations of tabla players around the world.

This special evening brings together a group of those 'next gen' Indian music artists to showcase the continuing legacy of their guru, highlighting the various 'shades of Zakir-ji'. Seven remarkable young performers from across North America will bring Zakir's repertoire to the stage, via a concert of tabla duets, santoor, ghazal vocals and more. No doubt they will have some stories to tell as well!

Tabla: Tejas Tope, Vikas Yendluri, Karan Minhas, Kiran Morarji
Santoor: Girish Kale
Vocal: Naval Pandit
Harmonium: Hardeep Chana

Doors open 5:00 PM
