Confluence of Colour
Confluence of Colour is a newly created ensemble that weaves together a rich tapestry of melody rhythm inspired by the music of South Asia. Sharing a common love and rich understanding of the classical and folk music of the subcontinent, the quartet blends their unique and diverse collection of instruments while presenting original and traditional compositions for a truly colourful confluence of artistic expression.
Leader Andrew Kay is an acclaimed musician and composer and co-leader of juno-nominated band Monsoon, who performs on saxophones, clarinet, Himalayan Singing Bowls and percussion. Marta Solek contributes cello, sarangi and Greek lyra. James Duff plays dilruba, guitar, sarod and Viola Da Gamba, with Abbas Janmohamed on tabla.
