Janice Jo Lee Ensemble launches the long-anticipated 'Ancestor Song' album. Lee’s songs mix folk, funk, jazz and new music. This suite of songs charts a seven year journey from complete spiritual destruction, to withdrawal, rest, healing, re-emergence and empowerment. Now with boundaries! With renewed feelings of purpose and self-love! 

An evening of soul-warming three part harmony, stirring musical themes, poems on our times, and sing-alongs for the people. A comforting balm for the overworked, weary-hearted, and revolutionary spirit.

“When the first of these melodies came out of my chest, I didn’t believe it was of my own creation. I felt I had accessed a deep part of my blood memory. Melodies I felt had been passed down to me by my ancestors, who gave me the voice in my chest and my body as an instrument.
