Sadhana Sargam is an Indian singer known for her playback career in Indian cinema, predominantly in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Nepali, and Tamil language films. She is a recipient of the National Film Award and Filmfare Awards South. She has also won five Maharashtra State Film Awards, four Gujarat State Film Awards, and one Orissa State Film Award.
In the early 1990s, Sargam emerged as one of the most sought-after female singers, her most notable rhapsodic Hindi hits are “Neele Neele Ambar Par” from Kalakaar, “Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaye” from Jurm, “Pehla Nasha” from Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, “Na Kajre Ki Dhar” from Mohra, “Tere Dar Pe Sanam” from Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee, “Jhinimini” from Maqbool, and “Aao Na” from Kyun! Ho Gaya Na....
Kedarnath Bhattacharya, professionally known as Kumar Sanu, is a leading Indian playback singer who primarily sings in Hindi film songs. Apart from Hindi, he has also sung in other languages including Marathi, Nepali, Assamese, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Manipuri, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Punjabi, Odia, Chhattisgarhi, Urdu, Pali, English, and his native language, Bengali. He holds the record for winning five consecutive Filmfare Awards for best male playback singer from 1991 to 1995. He holds the Guinness World Record for recording the maximum number of songs (28) in a single day since 1993.
For his contribution to Indian cinema and music, he was awarded the Padma Shri in 2009 by the Government of India. Many of his tracks feature in BBC’s top 40 Bollywood soundtracks of all time.
