Toronto’s JUNO-nominated Lemon Bucket Orkestra will begin their massive summer tour with a huge local sendoff at Toronto’s Lee’s Palace on June 26th. The show will mark the beginning of a tour that will bring their phenomenal live show to no less than eleven major festivals in five provinces. This wild, eclectic group of musicians has been electrifying audiences in their hometown and across Eastern Europe for the last four years, earning themselves loyal fans wherever they travel, and garnering a JUNO nomination, Four Canadian Folk Music Awards nominations, and a SiriusXM Indie award nomination for their debut release, “Lume, Lume.”

Fans in Toronto can expect the band’s wild antics to be at a fever pitch, as they say “thank you” to their hometown crowd.

“Toronto has been so good to us, and we couldn’t ask for a better home.” explains ringleader Mark Marczyk, recently home from a three-month stint in crisis-ridden Ukraine with the groundbreaking Lemonchiki Project . “Without the support of the Toronto community, we would never be able to share the music with the rest of the country.”

Audiences were blindsided in 2012 by the LBO’s first tours of Eastern Europe, the birthplace of the rapidly-growing Balkan Music movement. In 2013, the band brought their fierce punk energy to major festivals including Pohoda (Slovakia) and Peninsula (Romania), sharing stages with some of the genre’s greatest artists (Marko Markovic, Taraf de Haidouks).

Now, in summer 2014, Canadians from coast to coast will experience the joy of LBO’s ecstatic, punked-out guerrilla folk parties. Festivals of Jazz, Folk, Klezmer, Chamber Music and even the Calgary Stampede will all see the Orkestra light up the stage.

This June 26th, before they leave to share their trademark Balkan-klezmer-gypsy-party- punk-super-show with the entire nation, Lemon Bucket Orkestra will give Toronto a night to remember.
