Mekaal Hasan and Haniya Aslam are among the most influential popular artists in recent Pakistani music. For almost two decades the award-winning Meekal Hasan Band has been at the forefront of South Asian rock, winning fans from across the musical spectrum. Haniya, with her partner Zeb, has had success from the underground to the national scene, with a sound described as Alternative, folk, blues and world.
