As the son of the renowned vocalist, Pandit Dinkar Kaikini, Yogesh Ji started his musical journey engulfed in a melodic atmosphere. At four, he was a student of Pandit H. Taranth Rao, beginning to learn tabla to accompany his father.

He eventually sought guidance from one of the greatest percussionists, Ustad Alla Rakha Khan. Spending over 23 years under the watchful eye of his Guru, Yogesh Ji has become the torchbearer for the Punjab Gharana style of tabla.

Yogesh Ji continues learning with Pandit Sushil Kumar Jain, known for his playing of treasured centuries old compositions.
