14 Hours is a project formed by Majd Sekkar (Majd Sukar), a Syrian-Canadian clarinetist renowned on the Toronto music scene for his fusion music and unique sound. His style blends Middle Eastern folk and classical music with jazz in unparalleled practice. Sekkar brings his art to the Canadian music scene as a soloist and improviser, a part of many Toronto bands such as Romani Jazz, Fethi Nadjem North African ensemble, Moneka Arabic Jazz, and Moskitto Bar. Moreover, Majd has appeared as a master improviser with Canadian Arabic Orchestra since 2016 and he has also performed with prominent musicians around the world.
Come be part of some fantastic lunchtime live performances from a variety of high-energy artists of all different styles while enjoying the sunshine.
The music for this performance is funded by the Recording Industries Music Performance Trust Fund in cooperation with Local 149, Toronto, of the Canadian Federation of Musicians.
