College Park Courtyard Lunch-Time Concert Series from June 28 — September 6
Re-energize every Wednesday from 12PM - 1:30PM at College Park Courtyard with Small World Music #PlayTheParks Downtown Yonge BIA.
Originally from Castro, on the Chilean island of Chiloé, Karla García is a classically-trained guitarist and teacher who plays a wide variety of music, from folk, fado, and rock, to classical, Celtic, Latin, and more. In 2010 she was named “Best Performer” at the César Cortinas Guitar Contest (Atlántida, Uruguay), and one of the most important Chilean flamenco guitarists, Carlos Ledermann, dedicated a composition, “Suite Emocional,” to her. García has also taught master classes at Festival Entrecuerdas one of the largest guitar festivals in South America, and has shared the stage with prestigious guitarists from Norway, Italy, Portugal and Canada.
Praised by El Diario de Concepción for her “warm and soulful sound,” violinist Jeimmi Carrasco is a soloist, chamber artist, and orchestral musician, and a three-time recipient of the Foundation Ibanez Atkinson for her artistic contribution to Chile. As the founder of the Adlibitum Ensemble, which blends classical music and Latin music, Carrasco performed across Chile; she completed her Bachelor’s degree and Artist Diploma at The Glenn Gould School of Music in the studio of Mayumi Seiler.
Come be part of some fantastic lunchtime live performances from a variety of high-energy artists of all different styles while enjoying the sunshine.
