Born in Istanbul, Selcuk Suna comes from a family of musicians. He joined the Children’s Opera when he was 8 and started classical clarinet when he was 11; by the time he was 18, he was performing on numerous television programs, and with countless Turkish pop, jazz stars. While in Turkey, he has played on stage with internationally-known artists such as Shakira and spent 13 years performing weekly on the popular late-night show, Beyaz Show. Now in Toronto, he performs with a range of bands, including KUNÉ, the Istanbul Trio, and many others, shared the stage with many renowned artists including Grammy-nominated Joey Alexander, and released Turkish Standards / Non-standard, featuring both Canadian and Turkish musicians.
