In this one-of-a-kind live show, Remix ⟷ Culture will take the audience on an unforgettable journey. From trance to dance, New York DJ/VJ HAT & Toronto Indian music star Hasheel beam traditional music from the four corners of the world onto the big screen, shaping them into provocative new electro beats.
When performing live video remixes, Hatim Belyamani uses the stage name HAT, and serves as brand ambassador for the NY-based non-profit organization, Remix ⟷ Culture, which he founded. This organization celebrates musical traditions in harmony with digital remix art, and has as its mission to inspire people to reconfigure their relationships with other cultures, communities, and individuals, through film and musical experiences, both live and virtual.
Hasheel is an East Indian classical singer and bansuri player. He is a senior student of the legendary Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, and is also under the tutelage of renowned singer Pandit Ajay Pohankar. Hasheel has performed around the world and across Ontario. He is also featured in numerous albums and film scores with over 100 tracks to his name. His collaborations include those with Balkan musicians all the way to electronic and hip hop artists.
