About the Artists:
Seu
Accompanied by a talented quintet of musicians from Canada, Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico, Seu brings a unique and rich musical experience to the stage. This two part show lets the audience explore Seu’s current musical projects, culminating in the performance of his latest single, “Un Deseo,” along with the release of its animated music video.
Seu is a Mexican singer-songwriter based in Toronto, Canada, whose music reinvents the traditional bolero genre by fusing it with contemporary influences like reggae, funk, bossanova, soul, dub, jazz, and R&B. Over the past four years, he has performed extensively across Canada, Germany, Spain, Ireland, and Mexico, where he has shared his music at prestigious festivals, private events, and concerts.
Luis Anselmi
Through intricate rhythms and uplifting lyrics, Luis Anselmi and his band GRATITUD create a vibrant latin sound, seamlessly blending beats from diverse cultural backgrounds. Their music is a celebration of life, captivating and inspiring each listener to dance.
Luis Anselmi, a scholar and mentor of the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation, skillfully merges his Venezuelan roots with global music influences. Having mastered the Venezuelan cuatro and piano, he also lends his voice to both singing and songwriting. Collaborating with esteemed artists like Eliana Cuevas, Junior Santos, Jonathan Nvita, Camila Lozada and Roshane Wright, Luis’ performances have resonated across genres and settings such as the Toronto Jazz Festival, T.U. Jazz, WinterTide, DiverseCity, and Mississauga Latin Festival.
Doors open 7:00 PM
The 2025 Small World Music Series is sponsored by TD Bank Group through the TD Ready Commitment and funded by the Government of Canada, Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, and the City of Toronto through the Toronto Arts Council.
