Hailed as one of the most celebrated percussion players in the world music scene, Habib Meftah, draws inspiration from his birthplace, Bushehr, a culturally diverse port city in southern Iran shaped by Persian, African, and Arab influences. With his vast experience working alongside international musicians like Adnan Joubran, Azam Ali, and Titi Robin, Habib brings his expertise to the fusion of EDM and southern Iranian music in Shibaali.
Rouzbeh Esfandarmaz, known for his profound understanding of Western and Iranian music, adds his improvisational skills and musical sensibility to create a unique and mesmerizing blend.
Opening Band:
Dastgâmachine is a group consisting of Persian electric setar (Mahmood Schricker), synthetic sound (Caleb Klager), organic sound selection (Neonlitcher). Together they embrace experimental electronics inspired by the Persian Dastga system and ancient melodies both disrupted and harmonized by new sounds and radical approaches in dialogue.
Neda Mohamadpour, originally from Tehran, Iran, grew up immersed in traditional folk, and Persian classical music. Her early love for music sparked a deep curiosity about diverse musical styles from around the world, especially Middle Eastern folk music. She had the privilege of training with renowned Persian female musicians Simin Ghanem and Malihe Moradi.
