Sound of Dragon on Tour with the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra

An international collaborative project with musicians from Vancouver, Taiwan, and Toronto, Sound of Dragon features the Ontario debut of the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra’s (VICO) presenting a diverse sampling of the best music from Vancouver’s Sound of Dragon Music Festival.

An ensemble made up of players from the VICO and Taiwan’s Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra will present unique interpretations of folk music as well as original works influenced by Indian, Klezmer, Persian, Chinese, Taiwanese, and even Beatles music! Joining the ensemble is Toronto pipa virtuoso Wen Zhao. Featured is the Toronto premiere of John Oliver's ‘Eagle Flies to Mountain’ for cross-cultural instrumentation.
