Beny Esguerra is a talented artist who arrived in Tkaronto as a political refugee from Colombia. He is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, poet, arts educator, and community worker who won the 2020 Ontario Arts Foundation Arts Educator Award. His album, Northside Kuisi, blends spoken word, hip-hop, and Colombian Afro-Indigenous music and has been nominated for the Collaboration of the Year award at the 2022 International Indigenous Hip Hop Music Awards.

Furthermore, his music has won the Music to Life's Hope Rises II songwriting contest and an international call for social justice songs. Beny Esguerra and New Tradition Music deliver an interactive performance that addresses justice, environmental healing, and respect for ancestors and land treaties.
