About the band:
Warsaw Village Band is one of Poland’s most recognizable folk groups. For over a decade, they have revived traditional Mazovian songs, blending them with modern sounds. Using instruments like the baraban, dulcimer, hurdy-gurdy, and Bilgoray suka, they create a raw, powerful sound enhanced by the white voices of three female vocalists. Warsaw Village Band has redefined Polish folk music, breathing new life into old traditions and carrying them worldwide.

Deeply rooted in Poland’s rich cultural heritage, Polky is a powerhouse ensemble that redefines tradition by blending Polish folk music with global influences. They introduce Canadians to the magic of Eastern European vocals, spirited Polish dances, and rare instruments such as the suka, an ancient lap fiddle brought back to life from historical paintings.
