Chakavak is a musical ensemble founded on the love for Persian music. Applying this devotion practically, they promote and perform to as varied an audience and at as a high a standard as they can. With a diverse instrumental palette, Chakavak Ensemble captures the evocative power of ancient musical traditions from Iran. Chakavak Ensemble was founded by Reza Manbachi in Iran (1998) and was re-established in Toronto (2004) after his arrival in Canada.
Since then Chakavak has collaborated with artists from many ethnic backgrounds and has performed nation-wide and internationally at both cultural and humanitarian events. Chakavak continues to aim high in spreading message of Iranian poetry and music, that is, the necessity of love and peace in the lives of humankind.
