What is this program about?

The Small World Music Incubator is a program designed to support professional musicians from diverse backgrounds in the Greater Toronto Area, particularly those from immigrant, newcomer, and underrepresented communities. It provides participants with professional development, mentorship, networking opportunities, and resources to help them build sustainable careers in the music industry.

The program offers:

Access to a supportive community in the music industry
Hands-on Workshops on music business, marketing, grant writing, and industry best practices.
One-on-One Mentorship with experienced music professionals.
Showcase Performances where participants can present their work to new audiences.
Networking Opportunities to connect with industry professionals, fellow musicians, and potential collaborators.

Who is this program for?

This program is open to musicians and artists with a strong foundation in their craft, dedicated to advance their career into Canada’s music landscape.

One Year of Unforgettable Music - 24 Artists, 12 Double Bill Concerts

From our Incubator Program to Centre Stage!

For the first time in the Incubator program, the 2024 cohort steps into the spotlight through a brand-new concert series.

These artist’s voices will be amplified and re-introduced to Toronto audiences. Throughout the year, 24 artists will be paired for dynamic double-bill performances, bringing fresh sounds and new artistic perspectives to the city’s music scene.

Each artist brings their own story and unique musical language that reflects the rich diversity of Toronto. From reimagined traditional sounds to original work, these 12 concerts offer the chance to witness the next wave of musical storytellers as they carve out their space in Toronto’s vibrant landscape.
