Asian Music Series Explorer Bundles Unwrapped!

Almost a week away from April 1st and our Asian Music Series, and just one day before ZUZE & IVA play a sold-out show at the Small World Music Centre!

If you’re trying to decide which Asian Music Series shows to see we have great news: Small World Explorer Bundles are now available! These give you access to big savings on Asian Music Experiences through curated three concert packages: Rhythm, Soul, Heritage and Motion.

For example, the first option, our Rhythm Bundle, includes the launch event with Haniya Aslam Trio‘s jazz and blues blended with mystical Sufi folk music. It also has Debashis Sinha’s Upanishads, which is a discovery of sacred texts via soundscapes. It ends with a throwback dance party, Globetrotter’s Retro Bollywood Edition.

With shows by the Korean Traditional Music Association, Monsoon’s soulful jazz-raga focus, and culture-crossing string players Kousha Nakhaei and Amely Zhou at World Fiddle Day, the Soul Bundle has lots to offer. That’s only two of the four – there’s too much great content to fully ‘explore’ here, so check out the full details. And with only a limited number available, you’re encouraged to do so quick!

Two great events upcoming at Lula Lounge, starting tonight when we present Ethiopian-Israeli singer AvevA Dese with Ashkenaz and Batuki. A rising star in the Israeli music scene, Aveva’s music features stimulating African groove with a touch of the fresh urban beat of Tel Aviv. Then on Monday, it’s a World Music JUNO celebration with performances by nominated groups Turkwaz, Sultans of String and Nomadica along with previous winners and nominees.

Watch AvevA Dese and her band play “Abebayehosh” by Teddy Afro at the Sigd Festival in Tel-Aviv in 2015.
