This weekend our Asian Music Series, sponsored by TD Bank, continues with a rare opportunity to experience traditional Korean music live. The Korean Traditional Music Association of Canada (KTMAC), as the name implies, is dedicated to keeping ancient sounds alive by bringing them to contemporary audiences. A wonderful array of instruments, strings, percussion, winds and voice relay folk, ritual and court music with great skill and commitment.
Listen to Sinbaetnori for a taste of what’s in store. To sweeten the deal, we are offering a pair of FREE tickets to the first lucky person who emails us here.
Meanwhile Friday is your last chance to explore the Asian Music Series through a Soul Explorer Bundle. The magic of KTMAC, Monsoon and the World Fiddle Day Concert can be yours for $40; Buy yours through our Ticket Hub.
Next weekend, the series has two very distinct events, ranging from meditative Indo-jazz to Bollywood dance floor moves, as we host Monsoon at the Small World Centre, and head back to Round for a special Globetrotter night.
Lastly, Small World is HIRING a Community Engagement Coordinator for a brand new initiative bringing an innovative working model for live music presentation to Toronto! If you’re someone passionate about world music and culture, and interested in developing a musical shared platform, please apply.
